Already €24,626 raised — thank you all!

What an incredible result: together we’ve already raised €24,626 for “A Roof for Dreams.” Thanks to you, children in Ghana will soon have genuinely better opportunities. Thank you all!

A lot has happened at Share Ghana recently. From an inspiring visit to our projects in Ghana to a successful campaign week in the Netherlands, we’d love to take you through the key developments:

Bezoek aan de projecten in Ghana

Recently, Sebastiaan, Lotte, Ad, and Dian — together with Cedar and Niiya — traveled to Ghana. In addition to visiting family, this trip was mainly focused on our projects.

In northern Ghana, in Sumbrungo (near Bolgatanga), we visited two schools. With temperatures exceeding 40°C (104°F), it was certainly challenging, but the meetings with school boards, teachers, parents, and students made it more than worthwhile.

A wonderful result: at one of the schools, the number of students graduating each year has increased from 18 to 30. That’s an impressive growth of no less than 66%. According to the school, this is a direct result of the scholarships.

In addition, we met with our local partner organization, Wemnet. They oversee the implementation of our projects and maintain contact with Wilde Ganzen. Familiar faces and members of Sebastiaan’s family are also involved within Wemnet, ensuring close communication and a trusted partnership.

We also visited Zaarantinga. Together with local representatives, the education inspectorate, and the school board, we made agreements about the project’s progress and the eventual handover of the building. During a festive moment with the children from the village, we symbolically broke ground by putting the first shovel in the soil — a special and hopeful beginning.

The "Wilde Week": a big success

The past few weeks were all about the Wilde Week by Wilde Ganzen. With our project, “A Roof for Dreams,” we set an incredible amount in motion together.

What amazing energy during these campaign weeks! Initiatives sprang up everywhere:

• 30 Bolga baskets from Ghana found new owners

• Delicious chocolate campaigns by Dian and Janne

• Drielse kwats by Ad

• Sebastiaan and Lotte organized campaigns through their church and local community

• Beautiful handmade cuddly toys by Henriëtte

• Emmanuel Ahovi, Samson Nibi, and Yennutiebat Nibi contributed through their own networks

In addition, we received wonderful coverage in the local newspaper Mooi Schijndel: read more here. This led to new connections and greater involvement. For example, we will soon be meeting with the Protestant church of Sint-Michielsgestel/Schijndel, and we have received generous contributions from organizations including the Ad Moosdijk Foundation and the Vincentius Association.

And best of all: every euro was doubled by Wilde Ganzen.

We are almost there!

With the current amount of €24,626, we’ve already come incredibly far. To reach our target, we still need €2,687. Thanks to the matching contribution from Wilde Ganzen, this will provide a tremendous extra boost for the project.
