Projects
Share Ghana is currently primarily active in Northern Ghana. We have several projects there. These include improving school buildings, providing scholarships to primary and secondary school children, and providing furniture and hardware such as laptops and computers.

Scholarships
" At first, I always wore flip-flops, and my friends laughed at me. My uniform was also torn. But since receiving help, I'm happy to learn again and hope to achieve more in the future. "
Alagbono - Student

Infrastructure
We no longer have to worry about it raining. Since we have a roof on the school, we no longer have to close early when it starts raining.

Digital education
Many students didn't know what a computer was. But now they use them every day and can perform various tasks. This has helped them learn a lot.

The Atoliɛsum community
About 20 years ago, children from Atoliɛsum had to walk nearly an hour to reach primary school. The village community wanted to do something about this and started a school together. First in the shade of a tree, then in temporary clay houses, and finally in a first stone building with three classrooms. After a few years, another NGO helped build a school with six classrooms.
The village where this school is located is called Atoliɛsum and has 1,500 inhabitants. Currently, 120 children attend primary school and 30 secondary school. The school currently employs six primary school teachers and two secondary school teachers. These teachers are paid by the government. Some materials are also provided by the government, but supplies are not always predictable, so it's often a case of making do with what you have.

The growth of the school
After a few years of only primary school, more and more children wanted to go to secondary school. But secondary school was far away. So, the three old classrooms were put back into use. With the growing student population, a new building was needed. The village raised funds and began construction on two new classrooms and an office.
Once children complete this form of education, they take a test to determine their level. Those who pass can go on to a "senior" secondary school where they continue their education. These are often boarding schools. In terms of level, this is comparable to the upper grades of HAVO (senior general secondary education) and VWO (pre-university education).
Project 1
Infrastructure
Donations made it possible to provide the school with a good roof, windows, and shutters. Afterward, all the walls and floors were finished and painted.
The next phase is to furnish the school with furniture for the children and teachers. The primary school could also use a facelift, and perhaps a nice playground.

Project 2
Beurzen
Children attending school need at least a school uniform and shoes. They also need a bag with notebooks and stationery. This costs approximately €55. For some children, this is too expensive, and they are likely to drop out. One of our goals is to raise funds for this.
Project 3
Digital education
There's a need for hardware to work digitally and learn relevant skills. For example, classrooms need computers for students. Teachers also often don't have laptops to work on. We're working on this as well.
