Will we manage to give 180 scholarships again this year? Can we raise enough funds to build a new school building? And will we really make more impact with ICT? The year looks very promising. In this newsletter, we share our plans for 2025.
Plans for the current year: What are the goals?
Continuing the scholarships is the most important goal for this year. We have already raised close to enough funds. Therefore, we hope to expand the scholarship program to younger children this year.
We want to provide more ICT opportunities. This includes better and more hardware, training for teachers, and ensuring software is available for use. We will do this by collaborating with a very experienced foundation, Climbing the Right Tree.
The two schools we currently support need to be able to perform maintenance. For this, we will conduct an inventory of what will be needed in the coming years.
If finances allow, we want to help build a new school building in the village of Zaarantiga.
Improved ICT opportunities and foundation Climbing the Right Tree
Recently, we have been in contact with Climbing the Right Tree foundation. The foundation originates from Ghana and trains young adults there to become ICT experts. Their goal is to provide education in Ghanaian schools, where they (after screening) assist with improved education using ICT. They do this by providing hardware, training teachers, and offering support in the field of educational software. Children not only learn about ICT but also use ICT to improve their math, spelling, etc.

To support this, used hardware is collected in the Netherlands. Hardware of good quality is shipped to Ghana and installed in schools for use.
In Kerkdriel (at Ad and Dian's place), a collection point for these items will be opened in May. This means that everyone can drop off items there. Soon, there will be extra publicity for this. They also welcome hardware from companies that can provide larger quantities. If you have ideas for this, we would love to hear them.In Ghana, we are preparing "our schools" to start working with the support of Climbing the Right Tree.
New school in the spotlight
The father of our board member Noetie Nibi comes from Ghana. In the village where he comes from, there is an urgent need for an additional school building so that more children can attend school. Currently, 500 children are taught in 3 classrooms. We are raising funds to build 3 additional classrooms. Various applications are pending with organisations. We hope to be able to tell you more about this soon.
Continuation of scholarship campaign among individuals
Last year, a significant number of people supported us by committing an amount for three years for the scholarships. Some of these people have directly transferred an amount for three years. The remaining people will soon receive a request to transfer the contribution for the second year. You will hear from us.
If you are also interested in supporting the scholarship project, please let us know. We greatly appreciate it.

We are also excited to mention that the "International Christian Fellowship" in Wageningen has given us a very nice contribution for the scholarship project. In March, €1000 was raised for the scholarship project.
Ambassadors wanted
We are looking for people who want to be listed as ambassadors on our website. How do you become one? If you support our foundation and want to spread our message among your own friends and acquaintances, for example, by sharing it on your social media. We are thinking of Facebook or LinkedIn. Additionally, you might know organisations that support projects and can help us with project applications. If you are interested, please let us know!

Visit to Impactfair
On April 5th, Lotte visited the Impactfair at the Jaarbeurs Utrecht on behalf of the foundation. A report of her visit can be found on our website. It was inspiring to see what other organisations in the Netherlands are doing to make an impact.
Conclusion of 2024 and the budget for 2025
Last year, a lot was done within the foundation. Thanks to all the donations, we were able to help many children with a scholarship to go to school. On our website, you can find the reports of how much we spent last year. We have also posted the budget for the new year there so that we are transparent about the funds we have and want to use for the new year. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to ask.
We want to thank you all for your contributions. We hope that you will continue to support us this year. Do you want to help us make our dreams come true? Donate to our NGO, share a message or become an ambassador!
