How quickly time passes, this is already the last newsletter of the year. And of course there is news to report again.
Computer rooms
The donation from the thrift store in Zaltbommel was partly used to furnish two ICT classrooms. At Atoliɛsum this room is already finished and at Atampurum the computers are ready, but first the power needs to be installed. This school does not yet have a power connection. Share Ghana has donated €1350 for the computers, and the community itself is contributing by investing in installing the power. Five computers have now been purchased for both ICT rooms. The students are very happy with this expansion. In a video on our website you can also see this request passing by. Nice to see that this is actually being worked on by the community itself.

In January an appointment is planned with the foundation: Climbing the right tree. This organization works on teaching digital skills from elementary school until after university and supports young people in starting their own IT company. We will see if “our” schools can qualify for support from this foundation. Also, Climbing the right tree may be able to help ship computers. It would be nice if we could get old(er) computers from companies to take there. Is your company having a big cleanup soon? Then consider Share Ghana. We always keep ourselves recommended. We currently have 10 computers ready to go to Ghana. Some of these will be given to the teachers.

Scholarship Action
Past September we put out our scholarship campaign. A nice number of people responded and donations are still coming in. We have been able to give 180 children a new start at the schools. A number of people have directly transferred money for three years. In these cases, we have reserved two-thirds of the amount in our budget to be able to follow up on the scholarship campaign for the next two years. Because experience has shown that continuing help is even more important than one-time actions.
The schoolchildren are currently enjoying their Christmas break. This is celebrated at the school on the so-called “vacation day”. Children bring their own food to school and celebrate the vacation together. On this day it is also announced when schools will reopen.
Ghanaian government
The Ghanaian government recently gave school desks to the Atampurum school. As a result, this school now has more than enough school desks and all children can find a place to sit. In addition, the government pays teachers' salaries, guaranteeing the continuation of education.

Sponsors
The protestant church in Kerkdriel has repeated the action around Easter, but now in the Advent season. We are curious what amount this will yield for the foundation. That money will also be used next year within the scholarship program.
In the new year we will again be looking for new sponsors. If you want to contribute, please let us know. If you know of places where we can set up a sponsorship campaign, we are also always interested. And also think of possible hardware for our foundation.
